About materials and metals

What metarials can the fingernail be made of?

We offer three types of metal Your fingernail can be made of:

gold - 585/14K, it is automatically the most expensive variant,

silver - 925/sterling, the classic silver for jewelry,

nickel-free steel - extremely durable and anti-allergic alloy.

Beside the metal, fingernails can also contain elements made of
epoxy resin, gemstones or other elements upon request.

Which metal should I choose?

If the fingernail is to be some sort of Your investment or a highly
prestigious accessory, the best option will be gold that never
oxidates and retains its worthy color and shine.

The less expensive, but still worthy variant will be silver
which fits with everything and oxidates with time what
can make the design even more curious and crisp.

The nickel-free steel is a chrome-cobalt alloy, that is extremely durable,
hard to scratch or bend. In some sense, it's a 'tank' among other metals.
Please note, this alloy is used in military industries for making gun barrels
or other parts and elements that make every firearm more durable.
Moreover, this alloy is also used in medicine due to a lack of
nickel and beryllium, which cause allergies by some people.

Can the fingernail be made out of entrusted materials?

Yes. If You have some unwanted jewelry out of gold or silver or
gemstones that You would like to use at last, of course, we can
use it. The manufacturing cost will be definitely lower.

Care and usage

How to put on the metal fingernail?

First, lay the metal fingernail on the correct finger and make sure it adheres
to the natural fingernail precisely. None of cuticles or nail polish residue
should disturb while doing this or get under the metal fingernail.
If needed, shorten the natural fingernail to the length of finger
and check the adherence again.

Put a small amount of fake nail glue on surface of Your natural fingernail
and directly put the metal one on it in the proper position. You have only
several seconds for eventual reposition.
Push and hold it...
Make sure the fingernail adheres well and holds on while trying to pry it open.

Otherwise just clean the natural and metal fingernail of the glue
and repeat (in the following text You will find some tips about
cleaning the metal fingernails).

Try not to soil the upper surface of metal fingernail with glue, ever.
Trying to remove the glue from this side can damage the design,
especially the elements out of resin.

Which glue should I choose?

Every glue for fake nails is a cyanoacrylate adhesive, well, it will work
fine, but You can try out different products from cosmetics stores,
especially of Polish brands which are industry-leading.

Above all, remember not to wear metal fingernails for too long.

It's good to take them off always after the day You wore them,
so they never get lost. The air humidity or sweat from hands
can dissolve the glue, well, after a long time of wearing
they can fall off uncontrollably.

For photoshoots or clips, there is no need to use a strong nail glue.
You can just use the glue pads or double-sided tape.

How to take off the metal fingernail?

Try to pry open the edges of metal fingernail with an orange stick.
Still there?

If the fingernail has no resin elements, just dip Your finger in
acetone or warm soapy water for several minutes and try to pry it
open with orange stick again. If it's still holding on,
repeat this action until a success.

If the fingernail contains resin elements, You cannot dip it in acetone.
Then You can only use a warm (but not hot!!!) soapy water and
try to pry it open with an orange stick.

What to do when fingernail regrows?

It is not recommended to wear metal fingernails until You notice
your natural fingernail's regrowth. It's risk that You lose a very
expensive adornment uncontrollably, but if it already happened,
just take it off and put it on in desired position.

How to clean metal fingernails?

The metal fingernails can be cleaned with soapy water. You should never
use any scratchy items or agents.
If the lower surface of fingernail has some glue residue, You can dip it in
acetone, but only if it doesn't contain resin elements. Otherwise just soak
the fingernail in warm soapy water or remove the glue 'dry' with orange stick.
